Croquet is a wonderful sport so we want to share it. And, to keep the game vibrantly well, we always need new members.

Most new members are also new players, so we offer one-to-one training in the basics of the two main games we play – association croquet and golf croquet. Mallets are provided. 

The new player only needs to provide a suitable pair of flat-soled shoes. Lessons are arranged between a new player and coach at times suitable to both.
​From there, croquet can be played at any level. We have a range from social players who just enjoy the  friendly aspect of club days to top level international players representing New Zealand on the world stage, with many members in between.

​HAVE A GO

​​As a foreunner to individual free lessons, we hold from time to time free 'Open Days.'  Coming to one of these days is a way of testing whether or not croquet is a sport for you. News of when these Open Days are to be held will be detailed on this website once they've been confirmed, and advertised through radio and newspaper as well.

You can also feel free to come and visit us on any club day during the season. Our club is always welcome to new visitors! See This Week at the Club  under News and Notices for details of when you'll find people available at the club. ​

ESTABLISHED PLAYERS​​

Some who join Waimarie come from other clubs or come back to the game from a period away. If you are a person like that you might like to phone or email our club captain, Mike Theobald (04) 977-1024 or miketheobald43@gmail.com to have a chat. We are always pleased to have experienced players from elsewhere.

  • These fees are for the croquet year.
  • Dual and associate memberships are two different arrangements for members of other clubs wanting to be club members as well.
